We started a challenge to redesign what it means to build trustworthy architecture from the ground up. Collaborative infrastructure with peace, fairness and integrity in mind. All being made by people, different teams and settings. We come together in order to create the next thing based on real needs and ideas that give new kind of solutions; while keeping the best old ones.
Keep track of what we’re doing grassroots style
We choose the bootstrapped grassroots route. An inviting slow motion way for coming along. You can see the team growing; ask questions and explore us. Good teams are made with people who have a good fit, who can withstand the first messy process of becoming an interconnected force. Bees are hard workers, and they sync beautifully like code that flies over the wire.
Why CollabB-CollabBee
In our own search for solutions, help and collaboration; I saw many others doing the same. Some as a side hustle, some are looking for co-founders, some are between jobs and others are just flying solo. That insight became the yellow print for a swarm like incubator. Just people making solutions and products with the goal to enter the market. Learning and improving by doing.
Makea – a tiny concept startup
Makea is a small startup from the Netherlands. It has the sole purpose of driving ethical design patterns and infrastructure with a bit of humor. We build the concept of the virtual incubator in real time by doing while we are building our first product. Tabu Socials is well on its way, and we are already collaborating with others. CollabBee has come into existence just by sheer energy. A group who is working towards something real.
Swarm, nature and simplicity
We are remote first, and work from home first. We choose our own preferred place where we work and contribute. Not only that, but we don’t have 9 to 5 hours. We work in different time zones. There is no pressure, no negativity. Bees, can work collectively and be fully autonomous when out in the field. That metaphor is what we are building and experimenting with. We coordinate by letting others know what we’re up to. Communication is key. It is in our nature to swarm with simplicity.
Tabu Socials an ethical social media platform
Big dreams come with their own place. So, I decided to create Tabu a platform for critical thinking humor and safe online interactions. Social media without nasty habits and where we can find the news, the collaborations and projects that matter to us. A bit of learning by doing. Ethical sounds very difficult; but we keep it light with humor. We do the groundbreaking part in the infrastructure, the foundation. Users can participate with the 42 principles of Ma’at. Old enough to be global wisdom. Clear enough to guide safety on the platform.
Dutch corporate challenges
Developers build products and then try to find users. Social media is full of people asking for intros; testing and feedback. Then I found Dutch corporate challenges, and it dawned to me that we could take these as real demand and a challenge. Both for learning, upskilling and to professionalize. If we make a good framework; then many people can benefit from these lessons.
Bridging cultures, expectations, dreams and products
Trust is build over time. Small steps, collaborative. Different cultures have all interesting ways of coming to solutions. Code has no color. It is what we design together that makes the quality. We can and will improve with each iteration’s while learning from the past. In that way our virtual incubator make dreams a reality, shapes expectations and build product with an exceptional doses integrity.
